The background film appearing, John and Khaled recording the vid … only a couple of days before Nipsey would be gunned down outside his Marathon Clothing store in South L.A. The video setting was on a stopping structure the team leased in close-by Inglewood.

The tune is for the Khaled track, “Higher,” which will be on his up and coming collection, “Father of Asahd.”

John referenced the venture in his tribute tweet to Nipsey on the day he passed on, saying he’d quite recently taped with him and calling the collab “lovely.”

He was correct … the melody sounds like a straight banger, and furthermore seems as though it’ll have quite fascinating visuals – John at a fantastic piano, directly alongside great autos with pressure driven suspensions terminating. Also Nipsey in an imbecile head-to-toe blue suit.

“Higher” drops Friday, and is probably one of the last collabs Nip recorded before his demise.

Khaled says 100% of the returns from the melody and music vid are heading off to Nipsey’s youngsters, Emani and Kross Asghedom … and he says Nip’s family gave him their approval.
